Text messages
The text comes from the number they just called.
Answa LLC runs the service and sends these messages on the business's behalf, from that business's own Answa number — the same one the customer dialed a minute earlier. Messages lead with that business's name, so the person reading one can place it. Answa LLC runs its own number on the service too. Each number is registered with the mobile carriers separately, under the business that sends from it.
They're told on the phone
Before anything is sent, Answa says it out loud on the call: "I'll text you about this at the number you're calling from — just a few messages about this booking, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP any time and the texts stop." Numbers come from the caller themselves, on the call: never from purchased lists, scraped sources, or any third party. A business can also add a customer it booked by hand, and our terms require it to already have that customer's permission to text them.
Only about their own visit
Appointment times to choose from, booking and cancellation confirmations, waitlist openings, a reminder before the day, order updates, and a payment link for orders, which the caller is told to expect on the call.
STOP ends it
Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Frequency follows the caller's own orders and bookings — a few messages around each one, and nothing at all in between.
